In teaching, my aim is to use the study of history to encourage my students to see other perspectives and reflect on their own. I also prioritize modeling the skills historical thinking can impart rather than the content itself. I therefore strive to teach my students how to engage openly but critically with the views of others, to communicate their ideas effectively and support them with evidence, and to seek out information on an issue. Teaching has not only deepened my understanding of the topics of my courses, but has provided me with insight into how to present information and communicate complex ideas in a comprehensible manner.
